I have past experience as a product designer and business owner as well as a Head of Communications.
Entrepreneur and Product Designer
I started and ran an online shop, Epicerie Spicy Sweet, which specialized in gourmet sugars and hot cocoa wedding favors. I founded my shop to give myself a learning laboratory for business. I attended Los Angeles’s SCORE workshop on business plans and penned several versions of one for my shop. I approached vendors, tried my best to provide exceptional customer service, and brought a precarious balance act upon myself during joint holiday rush and finals season while in undergrad because of poor inventory management. I underwent as many lessons as triumphs. The bread and butter of my business was my exceptional customer service skills and ability to listen to my customers to craft the custom bridal products they wanted that still conveyed the rustic ethos of my shop.
Head of Communications
After starting at the organization as a communications intern, I was promoted to Head of Communications at Montreal nonprofit organization Artistri Sud. collaborated with our CEO, Fundraising Manager, and Events Manager to come up with communications strategies to support our fundraising events and public image. Additionally, I led our small but agile communications team in curating content calendars, crafting monthly newsletters for supporters, and writing copy for donor relations. I held workshops in SEO and worked closely with our team in social media strategy. During meetings, I proposed and helped develop innovative yet effective partnerships with local organizations and artists in Montreal. Using these platforms, we garnered the support of educated, mid and late-career professional women for both skilled volunteerism and financial support.
